Although the singular brutality of the Nazi dictatorship gruesomely symbolises human ruthlessness beyond all boundaries, one meanwhile often searches in vain for its visible traces - the "Fuhrerbunker", Gestapo headquarters, or the Sportpalast have long since ceased to exist.
