Den här boken låg som bakgrund till tv-serien med samma namn och jag kände att jag måste läsa den igen för boken är ju så mycket bättre än både tv-serien och filmen som annars är rätt ok.
Boken handlar om Broder William från Baskerville som är vida berömd för sitt skarpsinne och sin lärdom, som en novemberdag år 1327 anländer till ett norditalienskt benediktinkloster. Han är utsänd för att medla i en maktkamp mellan påven i Avignon och Kejsar Ludvig men annat kommer emellan.
Under sju dygn så hittas munkarna mördade en efter en och William får användning av sitt skarpsinne och sin slutledningsförmåga när han tar sig an att lösa morden.
