Den här boken nominerades till bästa översatta kriminalroman och har beskrivits både som en "magnifik thriller" och som en "tjusig kriminalroman" för att nämna några av de positiva omdömena. Det var nog mycket av det som gjorde att den hamnade i varukorgen och efter att ha försökt börja läsa boken både en och två gånger så bestämde jag mig för att verkligen ta tag i den och läsa den till slutet. För mig var det svårt att fängslas av boken. Den är långsam i sitt tempo. Inte vad jag direkt önskar av en kriminalroman och historien är i mitt tycke varken spännande eller intressant och huvudpersonen är väldigt osympatisk.. Boken utspelas i både nutid och dåtid och gör ett ganska förvirrat intryck. Jag tappar tråden många gånger och får börja om för det jag nyss läst fastnar inte. En i mitt tycke rätt ointressant bok även om den bitvis är både elegant och smart skriven.
