Denna bok är en sådan bok som sådana som gillar inception skulle gilla att läsa. Nöjet ligger i att hitta dem små pusselbitarna och hitta meningen med boken, om det ens finns någon. Post-modernism i all ära, så är detta nästintill satir på den. Det finns så många små brödsmulorna som rakt ut nämns dess betydelse, att det poteniellt roliga dör ut. Litar inte Auster på hans läsare? Eller är det så att det är så viktigt att det blir en djup och filosofisk bok att han kännt att han behövt skriva referenser rakt ut, och tagit död på en del av bokens poteniella charm.
