Residential QCI Handbook: Beyond the NREL JTA

Bok av Paul H. Raymer
A residential quality control inspector (QCI) is a residential energy efficiency professional who ensures the completion, appropriateness, and quality of energy upgrade work by conducting a methodical audit or inspection of the building, performing safety and diagnostic tests, and observing the work. A QCI has to know a lot of stuff about a lot of stuff! A QCI has to know the science behind how a building works, has to know how to use the diagnostic equipment to perform the tests, and has to know how to listen to homeowners, crew members, inspectors, and program personnel. The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) has developed a Job Task Analysis (JTA) that QCI certification is based on. This book was designed as a user's guide for that JTA, going through the five Domains and Tasks in detail. There are many citations of useful and supporting documents that provide even more in-depth information, and there is a special section that addresses the fears of taking multiple choice tests. With the right Attitude, QCI certification is achievable!
