Self-Organized Processes in Semiconductor Alloys

This book addresses issues related to the understanding, control and technological application of ordering, spinodal decomposition/composition modulation, clustering, and 3-D nucleation in epitaxially grown semiconductor alloys. By bringing together researchers in the various subfields of epitaxial growth-related instabilities, the interrelations among the subfields and the common aspects of the experimental and theoretical techniques used, are emphasized. Topics include: quantum dots; 3-D islanding and in situ studies; spontaneous ordering; and spontaneous composition modulation.
