Preserving the Flame

OPERATION LOYTON in the Vosges Mountains in August 1944 planned by Special Forces HQ, proved to be a disaster. It was "wrong time, wrong place" for many of the men of 2 SAS and SOE Jedburgh team "Jacob". This is a true story of courage, betrayal, and the unlikely friendship which blossomed between a German Officer, sentenced to death by the Nazis, and six British Special Forces prisoners held at Schirmeck camp.
