Boken är egentligen två historier i samma bok. De handlar om helt olika personer med helt olika liv. Men där finns många likheter. Det två unga huvudpersonerna Matilde i den första delen och Yann i den andra bor båda i Paris. De lever rätt så triviala liv och är både nöjda och lite uttråkade. Men så möter de på var sitt håll helt nya personer som förändrar deras liv och får dem båda att göra oväntade saker. En fin bok som gör att man stänger den med ett leende och förstår att det är viktigt att lyssna på sin magkänsla och våga göra det oväntade.
