När boken Vindens skugga kom ut 20001 slukade jag den. Först på svenska, sedan på spanska. Det var som att återbesöka Barcelona där jag tidigare varit utbytesstudent, men i en annan tidsepok. Dessutom var ett centralt tema i boken just böcker. Bokens huvudperson, Daniel Sempere, får följa med sin far, som äger ett antikvariat på Calle Santa Ana, till De bortglömda böckernas gravkammare i de gotiska kvarteren i den gamla delen av Barcelona. Där börjar denna magiska berättelse.
